We have become so busy in our everyday lives that we rarely pause to fully take in our experiences. The incessant internal chatter in our minds has been proven to be detrimental to our happiness and to our wellbeing yet most of us do not know how to stop it. In this 4-week course you will learn simple, yet powerful practices and strategies to bring mindfulness into your daily life that will support you in cultivating presence, joy, and self-compassion. These practices are essential for stress management and for building resiliency.

What You'll Learn
Week1: Mindfulness Fundamentals Learn about the origins of mindfulness and its benefits. Explore the research on mindfulness and how meditation changes your brain. You will learn techniques to practice awareness of breath.
Week 2: Mindfulness Of The Body In this session you will begin to gain an understanding of the mind/body connection. Learn about the nervous system, dissociation, how tension and emotions get trapped in our bodies. Experience gentle mindful movement to help you reconnect with your body and "thaw" the ice. Discover how to feel physical sensations in the body through the body scan meditation.
Week 3: Mindfulness of Emotions What is self-regulation? Better understand the nature of your emotions, your triggers, expand your emotional vocabulary, and learn how to work with difficult emotions. Introduction to RAIN meditation.
Week 4: Mindfulness In Every Day Life In the final week you will learn how to weave short moments of mindfulness into your daily life. We will review any remaining questions and discuss how to set yourself up for a successful at home practice. You will experience a powerful mindfulness meditation which anyone can do.
Each week will build upon the previous one. Each session will include mindfulness theory and practice. This course requires that you practice at home for 20 mins per day (you will gradually build up to this amount of time and it is critical that you commit to practicing daily).
